"1960s Texas psychedelic band Fever Tree comes off like a
coincidental midnight meeting of Jim Morrison, Steppenwolf,
Jefferson Airplane, Iron Butterfly, and Jimi Hendrix at the
tail end of a drug and whiskey binge."

They had such a wonderful hit single that couldn't be followed-up!

Though "San Francisco Girls" only made #65 nationally (Cash Box),
it went #1 at CKLG Vancouver BC on July 20th, 1968. It also went #1
(3 weeks) on my personal Sound 10 chart on May 15th. At least someone
out there appreciated it.

The follow-up single "Where Do You Go" was pretty disappointing.

Has the correct single version ever appeared on a CD?

Yes, love that description of the group! I would add that the
ending of "San Francisco Girls" could make dogs howl and cats
climb walls if played loud enough.

I prefered "Salt Lake City" and "Theme for an Unknown Movie" if I have
that one right, and would bump probably Push Me, and either Evergreen or
Death.
